Cyclists who have put in many hours in the saddle and have the scars to prove it may find Privateer is the publication for them.
The magazine is geared towards the experienced off-road cyclist who has spent years experiencing the adrenaline rush of muddy singletrack trails, gruelling uphill climbs and fast descents over rocky terrain, as well as the enjoyment of tackling a particularly challenging piece of terrain.
Published every two months, the title may be essential reading for those who are addicted to the outdoors and love nothing more than testing the limits of themselves - and their bikes - on a wet winter's day on any of the numerous off-road routes dotted around the British Isles, be it in the company of a hardy band of likeminded individuals or alone, with only the sounds of nature for company.
It explores the various disciplines of off-road cycling and contains some stunning photography, along with insights into the history of the sport and the cutting-edge equipment that enables riders to push themselves to the limit.
The first issue of the magazine offered an insight into the history of mountain biking, titled The Way We Were, which features photographs of races from days gone by and retrospectives that give the reader an idea of how mountain biking has changed over the years.
Those wanting to sample the magazine can purchase three issues and pay by direct debit, or alternatively opt for six issues purchased using a credit card.
It is the latest creation from the cycling enthusiasts behind Rouleur, another bi-monthly publication that is aimed at those who favour tarmac over mud and keep their two-wheeled activities to the roads and offers articles on some of the world's biggest road cycling events, ranging from the Tour de France to the Giro d'Italia.
